Sketch artist, Marwan Moussa, exhibits emotive pieces inspired by his journey from Syria, through refugee camps to Northern Ireland. As well as depicting his personal experiences, the exhibition provides a remarkable insight into the difficult journey Marwan and so many others have been forced to make in the quest for safety.

‘We Lived It – The Social Impact of the Troubles’ is part of the Linen Hall Library’s ‘Divided Society’ digitisation and outreach project. The exhibition explores how working and family life was impacted by the conflict and also charts the peace process in the 1990s. Community groups and schools from across Northern Ireland were interviewed as part of the project and explored topics including The Good Friday Agreement and subsequent referendum. These interviews provide valuable insights into people who witnessed these events first hand, allowing visitors to experience a side of the story they may not have heard before.
