The Northern Ireland Community Relations Council, Heritage Fund and Decade of Commemorations Roundtable are organising a special conference this autumn entitled:
Partition: A Dividing Ireland in a Dividing Europe.
Theconference will be an exciting and innovative regional one-day event that engages community-based participants in a day of learning to illuminate the period 1920-22.
The conference will be a preparation event to help and inspire activities to be delivered in local communities to commemorate the centenary of events during the period.
To achieve this, events of the period will be set in a global context and illustrated through locally-based case studies that illuminate the three key themes of the conference. The themes to be discussed by the working group are:
- Partition and Borders
- Migration, Minorities and Dislocation
- Violent Conflict and Polarisation
