An inspirational local peacemaker received the Good Relations Award 2021 at an online ceremony on Wednesday 31 March. For her tireless work with the Integrated Education Fund (IEF), the overall winner was Baroness May Blood MBE.

The ceremony, held by the NI Community Relations Council (CRC), also recognised 9 good relations champions for their peacebuilding work in local communities throughout Northern Ireland.
The Highly Commendable Awards were:

- Olive Hobson, Shankill Parish Caring Association
- Gordon McCoy, Turas East Belfast Mission
- Susan McCrory, Falls Women’s Centre

- Narasimha ‘Bobby’ Rao, Strabane Ethnic Community Association
- Constable Stephen Simpson & Constable Mark McGarrity, PSNI
- Mel Corry, Trademark Belfast – Posthumous Award.
