Shankill Shared Women’s Centre opened its doors in July 2024 following 15 years of planning, designing and raising funds for the new bespoke £8.2 million Centre for women and their families across North and West Belfast and beyond.
The Community Relations Council supports the organisation through its Core Funding Scheme.
Betty Carlisle CEO said, “Its seems like it has taken forever, but we’ve finally got here! We look forward to running our services and activities and indeed adding more for the benefit of women across all communities.”
SSWC provides women-only services and activities through their numerous projects which include, among others, Shared Education, Empowering Young Women, Good Relations/Peace-Building, Volunteering, Health & Well-Being, Political Awareness, Life Skills Personal Development Programme. All of which are supported with Childcare Services.
Shankill Shared Women's Centre is dedicated to being a welcoming, safe and accessible shared space for women in the City and beyond.
The Centre also boasts several facilities and spaces that are now eligible for booking.
