It will be 25 years next year since the terrible events in Bosnia which resulted in the massacre of 8372 people in Srebrenica.
This event at 6pm Tuesday 18 June at Common Grounds Cafe, 12-24 University Street, Belfast will be held in Refugee Week to remember what happened in Europe at that time and to reflect on why we work both to ensure a society where difference is celebrated and in which refugees are supported and protected.
It will remind us of what can and does happen when we allow difference to be exploited and hatred to go unchallenged.
A short film will be screened followed by a facilitated discussion.
All are welcome but attendees should be aware that both the film and discussion will be explicit and potentially traumatic.
It is essential to book a place by emailing denise.wright@sbrtr.org.uk and numbers will be limited.
The event will begin with an informal supper at 6pm followed by the film and discussion from 6.45 - 8.15pm
The supper will be vegetarian and gluten free.
