Twelve people from around the world joined Ardoyne Youth Enterprise as part of their Welcoming Newcomers to North Belfast activities.
On 28 August 2019, the 12 international citizens joined Ardoyne Youth Enterprise for a family day out that included meeting North Belfast community groups, as well as discovering out what local services were available.
The entire day was themed around parks and gardens.
The group’s activities included:
- A visit to Carezone’s family fun and health information day at Marrowbone Park;
- Making pizza and chatting with volunteers at Grow Community Gardens, at the top of the Waterworks
- A guided tour of the Palm House and Tropical Ravine at Botanic Gardens.
A great day in excellent company, and plenty of worthwhile connections created.
The event was part of AYE’s Welcoming Newcomers to North Belfast activities, which are funded under the North Belfast Strategic Good Relations Programme, and run in partnership with Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre and North Belfast Friendship Club.
