Mid Ulster District Council is hosting a series of talks around the Decade of Anniversaries with particular emphasis this year on the period of 1919-1923.
The series of talks and discussions will deal with the historical facts that mark the key shifts in society that happened during this turning point in history and give meaning to the events that occurred across the divide, helping to promote a deeper understanding of our shared history and culture. This series is a continuation of the successful talks and conferences organised by Mid Ulster District Council.
The Council has developed best practice principles around ethical commemoration alongside the Community Relations Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund hosting a series of events engaging historians, commentators and community groups to take part in events and discussions which have allowed remembering in a public space in light of the Decade of Anniversaries.
