The Board and staff of the Community Relations Council are saddened to hear of the death of our dear friend and colleague Dr. Éamon Phoenix. Éamon worked with the Community Relations Council for many years particularly in the delivery of our Decade of Commemoration Project, a collaboration with the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Éamon was also a highly regarded recipient of our Good Relations Award for his exceptional achievement.
His contribution to the understanding of our divided, nuanced but shared history is enormous. His ability to sensitively communicate and humanise the stories of our past made him a much called on speaker across the island. Éamon was a seeker of untold history, that he freely shared with others. He was funny, friendly and unfailingly helpful. We are poorer without him and he will be sorely missed.
