Trauma is a natural part of human existence and the capacity to integrate the experience and grow from it is also part of our human capacity. The difficulty arises when whatever the person did to survive is no longer working and they are experiencing levels of distress including mystifying physical symptoms, mental health concerns, psychological and relational distress.
Facilitated by Brid Keenan, this six-day trauma healing education programme offers a range of activities – experiential learning, brief theoretical inputs, Q&A, reflection on the work participants are already doing and will consider-
Ø the recent developments in understanding how trauma impacts the physiology
Ø basic concepts related to working with the somatic experience of trauma to support the resolution of traumatic experiences
Ø healing the impact traumatic events across generations in the aftermath of armed political conflict.
