International Day of Peace 2018

Date: Friday 21 September 10am – 1pm

Venue: Belfast City Hall

You are invited to Belfast City Council’s celebration of International Day of Peace 2018. As International Day of Peace also coincides with Culture Night this year, we are adding artistic elements to the event in partnership with Culture Night and the Community Arts Partnership. Our keynote speaker will be the Rev. Trevor Williams, retired Bishop of Limerick and former Leader of the Corrymeela Community who will speak on the subject of peace building and reconciliation, 20 years after the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement.

Music for the event will be provided by Ciaran Lavery. The award-winning singer-songwriter from Aghagallon in  County Antrim, may be decorated at home by the Northern Ireland Music Prize (for his 2016 album 'Let Bad In') and might have totted up over 80 million streams on Spotify during his five year solo career, but it's the unrivalled knack he has for a poetic heart-stopping lyric that's set to earn him wider recognition as a treasured singer-songwriter

Everyone is welcome, but spaces are limited. To book your place call 028 9027 0663 or email goodrelations@belfastcity.gov.uk
